Hello and welcome to Thalesmere, a play-by-post roleplaying forum set in a richly detailed steampunk fantasy world. In order to make the experience more enjoyable to everyone, we have set up a few rules and guildines which form our community's code of conduct. Adherence to these rules is mandatory at all times and infractions will be sanctioned accordingly. In order to keep things simple and easy to understand, these rules have been organized into a list. Please note that this site has an age restriction and you must be 16 years, or older, to join. Infringement of any of these rules, will result in a warning for the first infraction and a ban, if the offending behavior is repeated.
- No spamming. Please use the General Discussion board for advertising and put an [Advertisement] tag in the thread title.
- Linking to illegal material is strictly prohibited and will result in a ban.
- OOC harassment, racism and discrimination, are strictly prohibited. The only hate tolerated here, is between characters and factions.
- Out of character discussions must be kept civil and polite at all times.
- No pornographic content. Although vulgar language is permitted, explicit sexual content is prohibited.
- No godmodding, meaning that your character can not be overpowered/invincible.
- Your character must be played accordingly to the chosen profession, race and role (refer to the site's extensive lore section for information).
- Here, on Thalesmere, we observe character progression. Meaning that characters will change over time, as they learn new skills and grow.
- Bilocation (having a character active in multiple locations at the same time), is prohibited.
In addition, there are a number of guidelines which, while not exactly mandatory, are considered a standard of roleplaying to which all members should aspire to, in order to increase the quality of the experience.
- Keep your Character Sheets updated, to reflect any recent changes to the characters, which would have occurred during roleplay.
- Use proper grammar and spelling.
- Try to make your posts at least two paragraphs long.
- While this site has periodic major plots, which cause a significant impact on the world, participation is not mandatory.
- Observe posting order whenever and wherever applicable.
