Thalesmere is a vast world of complex politics, powerful magic and advanced technology. It is a harsh world, where monsters prowl the wilderness, daring brave explorers and adventurers to venture out and uncover its secrets. In order to help you with the creation of your characters, we have included several guidelines and pointers, in addition to a character template, which can be found below.
There are three races inhabiting the world of Thalesmere (see the lore section of details), who live inside the borders of several different nations. Any character of any race could be a member of any faction, however each faction is dominated by a race, both politically and in terms of population. As such, while it is not impossible to find an elf who is a citizen of the Empire, for example, it would be rare and a Catur living under imperial rule, would most likely be a slave, or in some cases, an assassin. Such a character would face heavy persecution and discrimination which, while it wouldn't make it impossible to attain a position of wealth and power, it would pose a major obstacle. Such characters, while allowed, require admin permission and should be very rare. They are the exception to the rule, not the norm.
Characters in Thalesmere, could have a number of different occupations, from craftsmen, hunters and farmers, to soldiers, mages, alchemists, nobles, pirates, assassins, merchants, airship captains, explorers, etcetera. Some professions require additional explanation and information about them and their skills, can be found in the lore section. Each character must have a nationality which, while does not make one a loyal follower of that faction, serves as an indication to a character's place of birth.
